The
word Huetamo comes from the Chichimeca and means "Four
chiefs" or "Four coming from the Chichimeca word hue-tamu.
The town was founded in 1533 by Juan Bautista Moya. Vicente
Rivapalacio wrote Gusto Federal and Adios Mama Carlota.
