5 kilometers from Zamora

The city of Sahuayo is located 5 kilometers from Jiquilpan. Among its attractions we find the Temple of the Sacred Heart with its beautiful sculpture made by the artist Adolfo Cisneros, as well as the Neo-classic Sanctuary of Guadalupe, which holds paintings done by the master Luis Sahagun. The fabrication of palm hats of great quality have given fame to this city, as well as the fabrication of sandals of good finish and fine appearance.
During the important feasts, the "tlahualiles", dance on the streets with their enormous and colorful "penachos" (tuft of feathers) that come to measure up to 40 kilos.
