75
kilometers from Zamora
This town is located at a strategic point where it communicates
the region of Zamora with the region of "Tierra Caliente"
(Hot Land) on one side, and to the Purepecha Meseta on the other,
it is also the entry port to the highest mountain in Michoacan:
Tancitaro. Periban is surrounded by huge avocado orchards which
give a solid economic support to this region. The Parish, which
during the 16th century was a convent, is in front of the main
garden and a few steps away we find the Temple of the Hospital,
which has a beautiful "alfarje" which is a roof made
with carved woods that are artistically interlaced.
