30 kilometers from Zamora

Handcraft Zone

Very close to Tangancicuaro there is a rich handcraft and gastronomy region, where the more important communities are communities: Patamban, Ocumicho and San Jose, which are located on the skirts of the great mountain of Patamban, the second important elevation in the state of Michoacan; it's important to visit the Temple of St. Francis and the Temple of St. Peter in Ocumicho, without forgetting to visit the workshop-houses (women that work): polychrome ceramic in Ocumicho and the fine pottery in Patamban.

Figures with unique style; the pots in Patamban, little devils in Ocumicho and the pineapples in San Jose

Each year, on the last Sunday of October, the community of Patamban organizes the traditional Feast of Christ King, which attracts national and international visitors. Its clean and stoned streets are covered by precious saw-dust and flower rugs, decorated with multicolored hanging figures which await the pass of the Holy Sacrament in the hands of the parish priest who is followed by hundreds of faithful who come to the procession.
