La Piedad is a city located north of Zamora. Both cities are crossed by the Mexico-Guadalajara highway, putting them in an unbeatable position in relation with the two most important poles of development of the country. La Piedad has taken advantage of being neighbor to the state of Guanajuato, keeping its growth in the industrial sector constant, mainly in the pork area and in the sport clothes production. The states are united through the "Cabados" Bridge, which was built of pink stone in 1833. Some workshops with antique looms are still kept and used to make the fine shawls of "Santa Maria". You can't miss visiting the majestic, enormous and precious Parish of the Lord of Mercy; also a few kilometers from Zamora, we find the 25 meter high waterfall "El Salto", which is formed by the descent of the waters of the Lerma River.

Gastronomy: Pork "carnitas", cold meats derived from pork, "birria de chivo" (a kind of barbecue made of young goat), fried tacos, fowl in "mole rojo", and its famous fried pig's feet accompanied with fruit in vinegar in "chipotle".

Sweets: "Cajeta" and its derivates, milk candy, pumpkin preparations, and "capirotada"
