
It
is in the middle of the Meseta Purepecha; it has the San Juan
Bautista Parish that dates from the XVI century. Among its handicrafts
we have the wooden furniture carved with the Mexican colonial
style, packs, and girdles. Other towns of the Meseta are: Aranza,
Cheran, Pichataro, Nahuatzen, Ahuiran, Charapan, San Felipe
de los Herreros, Cocucho, Patamban, and Ocumicho, among other
places; the inhabitants are dedicated to the elaboration of
handicrafts in several materials and techniques.
