Maria Morelos y Pavon lived and officiated as parish priest
of Caracuaro and Nocupetaro. From this town Don Jose Maria Morelos
y Pavon left with seventeen armed men towards our fight for
Independence. "The Black Christ of Caracuaro" which
was given as a present to the people of Caracuaro by Fray Juan
Francisco in the XVI century is famous.
